I recently started running up and down 5 flights of stairs near my house in the morning before work. I can usually only take it for about 15 minutes before I'm exhausted, but hope to increase that a little since the heartrate should be up for at least 20 minutes for fat-burning (ugh!). I just got a bicycle too and hope to do hour long rides on weekends, combining fun and fitness - how efficient :)

Any other good time-efficient exercises the ladies are doing out there?

I was inspired to start this after attending Oxygen Network's Mentor Walk yesterday. They matched successful women in a variety of fields (Meryl Streep was mentor to aspiring actresses) to 4 mentees in each of those fields. We walked around Central Park, chatted, exchanged info and ideas and had a power breakfast at Tavern on the Green afterward. It was great. I'm personally involved in a women's network at work (a Wall St. investment bank) and at my school, a master's program at NYU. I think all of these diverse women's networks would benefit by interconnectedness. It's great to prop women in your field, but we also need to prop up women in other fields. Use a woman accountant. Go to a woman doctor. Hire a woman-led appraisal firm. Strong community support is a huge factor in the success of a commuity, whatever your identifying factor is.

I've started companies, none hugely successful yet, other than in terms of amount of press generated, but I'd like a forum where women help women be successful and thought this would be a good step to start one here!

I work in a testosterone-filled environment and just keeping up can be tough. There are two women in my 200-person division that are Managing Directors (top title) with children. How likely is this for the rest of us? These two are extraordinary women with, it seems, zero time for all of the work they seem to get done.

I've been looking for a project to start that could turn into a decent small to medium sized business, as that seems like the only way I can enjoy success and decent family life. Is the corporate world only for young women, those without kids or complete superwomen?
